Two CVC Suburban Subaru riders in the Masters 40+ category- Massimiliano Accaputo and Mark Paggioli:
While trying to set the stage for the group to get things going during the first lap of the race, Mark Paggioli set out at the front of the group waiting for some riders to bridge to him. After almost completing the first 1/3 of the first lap the group rode to Mark to get things going. This set up Massimiliano Accaputo to bridge to what would be the break of the day with 9 riders going clear for the rest of the race. Mark, now riding in a support role would be sure to come across with any riders trying to make it to the break, but none of the attempts ever made it to the break and it stayed away until the end of the race with Massimiliano grabbing 8th place and Mark coming in with the group after his day of support riding was over. This marks the 3rd year in a row where these two riders have finished 2nd,7th, and today’s 8th here in New Hampshire and the lake Sunapee Road Race. Congrats to both Henk and Max!
In the Masters 59+ Race Don Kimball finished in 13th spot in a very tough race, congrats to Don for a strong finish.
The Men’s Pro 1,2,3 race had our guys Chris Kohnle and Connor Walsh, who both rode strong and finished within 10 seconds of the winner, in a very fast race as usual here at Sunapee. These two riders are just ramping up for the season and we’re expecting big rides out of them soon. Great ride guys.

Our Category 2 riders that raced the 51st Fitchburg Longsjo Classic Stage Race, July 2-5, 2010. A great ride by Jeremy Brazeal placed him well overall. Jeremy, just getting back to racing after taking some time off, had a great 4 days of racing while even single handily bring the break of 8 riders back in the crit on day 4. Peter Petrillo unfortunately crashed on the road race stage, Pete was rushed to hospital after needing stitches, but he is ok, Pete is on great form and will be back racing in no time, heal up quickly Pete! Massimiliano had a solid 4 days of racing after breaking his femur just 13 months prior to this race, he was able to finish strong even being able to move up in the GC after 4 days, not a bad stint for still not being at 100% status after the major injury last year. Great job to the CVC Subaru of New England Cat 2 riders.

Sterling MA- 5-08-10
Josh, Pete, Chris, Jeremy
Not the only team members to do the Sterling race on Saturday, a host of riders from the team did various category racing in torrential downpours, everyone home safe at the end of the day.
In the P 1,2 race Josh finished a respectable top 20 even with having suffered a broken front spoke, catching on and attacking the field once again to get away, great support rides from Pete, Chris and Jeremy as well.
The 35+ race riddled with bad bad weather, crashes and an unmotivated pack had Tim race into a top 20 spot as well, support ridden by Henk, Trent and Rick.
Bridget rode extremely well, she raced the W P 1,2 while battling some of the top women in New England along with it’s weather.
We also had some Cat 4 men and women out there in the horrible conditions, great job to all and we are all looking forward to some better weather to race in next weekend.

The Capital Velo Club (CVC) bicycle racing team and Subaru of New England extend their partnership arrangement forming CVC/Subaru of New England. “The team is very excited to once again have Subaru as its title sponsor, allowing us to bring our vast knowledge of bicycle racing and race promotion to both the Hartford, Connecticut, and New England community,” said president and founder Mark “Henk” Paggioli.
Based in Hartford, the team has been racing since 1989 and has had many up-and-coming junior racers pass through. The team is active in the local community, supporting projects for safer roads, donating safety helmets and bicycles, and hosting rides such as the annual Keith Berger Memorial Criterium to support The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society® and youth cycling.
